2013 Halloween Bash Raises Funds for Research

The two Halloween Bashes this year were successful and fun events.  Hardly, your typical fundraiser, these Halloween costume parties, now in their 9th year are a celebration of life featuring live (and loud) music, a few cocktails and good intentions.

The first bash was held in Walnut Creek (east of San Francisco) and featured 300 costumed revelers, a Police cover band and a cheesy 70’s cover band called Mustache Harbor….it was a soft rock explosion.  Over 20 sponsors helped raise the bar this year as we hit the $30,000 mark even before attendees paid their admission.

The San Diego bash (actually in its 2nd year) is quickly establishing its legitimacy.  Held at the Hard Rock hotel with 200 people in attendance, party-goers went all out with their costumes and danced the night away to Flashback Heart Attack, an 80’s cover band.About $10,000 was raised at this event.

The Thoms family continues to match the proceeds with a $50,000 donation so, once again, it looks like $100,000 raised for important research for NF2!
